The Illinois Equipment Distributors (IED) held its 51st annual Christmas reception and installation of officers on Dec. 1 at Venuti's Italian Restaurant in Addison, Ill. Guests enjoyed a performance by TP Mulrooney, a golf comedian who has performed on HBO, Comedy Central and The Golf Channel, in addition to an open bar and a classic Italian meal. In the time frame just a bit short of a year, Felling Trailers Inc. has moved buildings, built buildings, acquired new technologies and moved existing equipment to streamline the production process and increase manufacturing efficiencies. All of this has transpired with the result of a new fabrication center. In the fall of 2016, Felling Trailers worked with Thein Moving Co. Felling Trailers Inc. conducted its fifth annual online auction of an FT-3 drop deck utility trailer to benefit a non-profit organization, Special Olympics Minnesota. The winning bid of $2,900 was placed just minutes before the auction closed on Oct. 5, 2017. The bid winner was a local contractor from Sauk Centre, Kevin Middendorf, owner of Middendorf Construction LLC. Middendorf's son had seen the Trailer for a Cause auction in the Sauk Centre Herald, a local paper and told him "Hey dad, we need a trailer, and this looks like a nice one, you should bid on it." A convoy of 10 Mack trucks featuring several new Mack Anthem models recently traveled nearly 850 miles from Allentown, Pa. to Atlanta over two days, giving truckers and the general public their first look at Mack's new highway hero. Beginning at the newly renovated Mack Customer Center on Sept. 15, the convoy left Allentown with a police escort.
