RIDOT Buys Specialized Trucks for Bridge Maintenance →

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) unveiled a new vehicle that will increase the department's ability to maintain its bridges with regular cleanings to remove road salts, sand and other debris. RIDOT purchased a fleet of six of these tanker trucks, which are outfitted with a series of high pressure water nozzles that allow the operator to clean the sides and deck of a bridge in a moving operation, generally at 5-10 mph.  Click for more...

Iron Mountain Specialized purchased it from Andrew Keller, salesman of Hunter Truck Sales in Smithfield, Pa., and financed the purchase through Doug Snee of Wells Fargo in Waynesburg, Pa. Concrete General Leads $47M Md. Project →

From Construction Equipment Guide... A new interchange is making steady progress in Montgomery County, Md. The project involves MD 355 at Montrose/Randolph Road in Rockville. The $47.2 million Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) job is funded through a combination of federal and state monies. It began in the summer of 2008 and is approximately 40 percent complete and on target for a late fall 2010 completion date. The campaign which began Dec. 22, 2008, gathered some 116,000 lbs. of food — surpassing its goal of 75,000 lbs. The Baldwin County Board of Education arranged for the funding, which comes from both public money and private donations. The 116,729-sq.-ft.
