Mack Defense Awarded Contract to Provide Heavy Dump Trucks to U.S. Army →

From Construction Equipment Guide... The U.S. Department of Defense announced it awarded Mack Defense a firm-fixed-price $296.4 million contract with the U.S. Army. Recently, a massive 10-year project to construct a third set of locks and increase the capacity of the canal was completed by Grupo Unidos por el Canal (GUPC), an international consortium of industrial contractors. Komatsu America Introduces HD325-8, HD405-8 Rigid Frame Trucks →

Komatsu America Corp.'s HD325-8 and HD405-8 off-highway trucks are equipped with an EPA Tier IV Final certified engine and feature increased horsepower and a new Komatsu Traction Control System (KTCS) to achieve improved productivity. These models have payload capacities of 40.3 tons (36.5 t) and 44.1 tons (40 t), respectively. They replace the HD325-7 and HD405-7 models. Komatsu has unveiled an "Innovative Autonomous Haulage Vehicle" featuring a cabless structure at MINExpo 2016 in Las Vegas, U.S.A. this year. Unlike 930E and 830E autonomous models, Komatsu has newly developed this vehicle exclusively as an unmanned vehicle designed to maximize the advantages of unmanned operation. Komatsu plans a market introduction in the near future. From Construction Equipment Guide... Artic dump trucks have a history that traces back to, of all things, a tandem ag tractor conceived in the 1950s in England by an Essex farmer. Early HistoryErnest Doe bought two Fordson tractors, removed the front axles from each tractor and connected the front end of one to the rear of the other using a hydraulic turntable. Voila!
