Mack Trucks Launches Mack MD Series Medium-Duty Trucks, Invests $13M to Establish New Operation →

Mack Trucks launched the Mack MD Series of medium-duty trucks, serial production will begin in July 2020. Mack also announced a $13 million investment to establish its Roanoke Valley Operations (RVO), a new manufacturing facility in the Roanoke Valley, Va., for the production of the Mack MD Series. The project will result in the creation of 250 new jobs. Recently, a massive 10-year project to construct a third set of locks and increase the capacity of the canal was completed by Grupo Unidos por el Canal (GUPC), an international consortium of industrial contractors. Komatsu America Corp.'s HD325-8 and HD405-8 off-highway trucks are equipped with an EPA Tier IV Final certified engine and feature increased horsepower and a new Komatsu Traction Control System (KTCS) to achieve improved productivity. These models have payload capacities of 40.3 tons (36.5 t) and 44.1 tons (40 t), respectively. They replace the HD325-7 and HD405-7 models. Komatsu Unveils Autonomous Haulage Vehicle at MINExpo 2016 →

Komatsu has unveiled an "Innovative Autonomous Haulage Vehicle" featuring a cabless structure at MINExpo 2016 in Las Vegas, U.S.A. this year. Unlike 930E and 830E autonomous models, Komatsu has newly developed this vehicle exclusively as an unmanned vehicle designed to maximize the advantages of unmanned operation. Komatsu plans a market introduction in the near future. By distributing equal load to the four wheels both when the vehicle is loaded and unloaded, and adopting four-wheel drive, retarder and steering, Komatsu is aiming for high-performance shuttling of this vehicle in both forward and reverse travel directions, thereby totally eliminating the need for K-turns at loading and unloading sites.  Click for more...
