There are many types of equipment used for snow removal, but perhaps one of the most common is the plow truck. Often-times the same trucks used for road maintenance in the summer are equipped with plow blades in an attempt to keep roads passable during winter storms. Typically large dump trucks, plow trucks are fitted with a large blade on the front while the truck body is filled with sand, salt, ash, or some combination. Other types of equipment, including front-end loaders, pick-up trucks and all-terrain vehicles also can be used to clear snow, if they have the appropriate plow truck accessories installed. In addition to clearing roads, plow trucks also are used to clear parking lots. Don’t get caught unprepared. Visit Construction Equipment Guide’s website to check out used plow trucks from Case, Mack, Volvo, Ford and others.
