W.J. Casey Brings Traffic to a Halt on FDR Drive →

It isn’t often you can stop traffic in New York City. But W. J. Casey, which has been hauling heavy loads for more than 100 years in the northeast, brought traffic to a halt on the busy FDR Drive during a recent job. The Union, NJ-based hauling, rigging and crane service company was called on to transport a new walkway for the Williamsburg Bridge, linking Brooklyn to Manhattan. Operating some of the largest aluminum-processing facilities in the mid-southern United States, Tennessee Aluminum Processors Inc., has found the key to productivity—skid steer loaders. Villager Performs Picture-Perfect Pipe Work Near Kodak →

The water is flowing smoothly again under the streets near Kodak in Rochester, NY. Working 12-hour days, Villager Construction, of Fairport, replaced 3,500 ft. (1,066 m) of concrete water pipe with new 36-in. (91.4 cm) diameter ductile iron piping. Monroe County Water Authority ordered the work after several breaks occurred along Lake Avenue. “The most difficult part of the job was trying to work around Kodak’s utilities,” said Joe Venuti, president of Villager Construction.  Click for more...


Barletta Speeds NH’s I-93 Project Toward July Finish →

Only 2 mi. of Interstate 93 south of Manchester, NH, have been directly affected by the rehabilitation of four different bridges along the highway. Once the work is finished, though, traffic flow for miles up and down the highway will be greatly improved. The Interstate is one of the primary routes north out of Boston, so many travelers headed toward the mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont have to squeeze through the bottleneck there.  Click for more...

J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers, a manufacturer of dump bodies and trailers, has announced the completion of a new tipper trailer for a customer in Trinidad. The high-polished aluminum trailer has a capacity of 104 cu. yds. (79.5 cu m), is 40 ft. (12.2 m) long, 8 ft. (2.4 m) wide, 13 ft. 10 in. (4.2 m) high, and features a possum belly-style bottom.
