Kenworth to Produce Liquefied Natural Gas Vehicles →

Kenworth Truck Company will expand its presence in the growing market for environmentally friendly, liquefied natural gas (LNG) vehicles by beginning production of Kenworth T800 LNG trucks at its manufacturing facility in Renton, Wash., in 2009. The latest addition to Felling Trailers’ product line is the fixed neck oilfield float trailer. These models’ capacities range from 25 to 60 tons (22.6 to 54 t) with 2 to 4 axle configurations. Philippi-Hagenbuch Inc. (PHIL) has introduced a 90-ton (81.6 t) rear eject scrap steel haulage trailer for a greenfield steel mill in Mississippi. The PHIL rear eject trailers allow steel mills to customize what goes into the charge bucket in a manner which results in higher quality steel and shorter melt times, requiring less electric arc furnace energy, according to the manufacturer. The largest contract of the latest phase of Seattle’s light rail transit system, construction of the Beacon Hill tunnel and station, involves a highly complex deep mining process and some of the most sophisticated tunneling technology in use today. J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers, a division of Somerset Welding & Steel Inc. and a manufacturer of dump bodies, trailers, and specialty truck equipment, is installing True Feather hoist controls on its commercial dump truck bodies. Air feather valves are popular mechanisms to raise and lower the hoist on commercial dump bodies.
