Felling's 5th Annual Trailer For a Cause Auction to Benefit the Special Olympics Minnesota

Felling Trailers, Inc. is conducting its fifth annual online auction of an FT-3 drop deck utility trailer to benefit a non-profit organization. Felling Trailers wants to bring awareness of Special Olympics and help provide funding for the individuals who take part in and benefit from the events and services provided by Special Olympics Minnesota (SOMN). One hundred percent of the winning bid will benefit Special Olympics Minnesota!

The online auction can be viewed at www.felling.com/special-olympics-mn. The auction will run for 12 days and will be "live" from Sunday, Sept. 24 at 12:00 p.m. CST until Thursday, Oct. 5 at 12:00 p.m. CST. Arrangements to be made for pick up at Felling Trailers' manufacturing facility or delivery (freight extra).

The mission of Special Olympics Minnesota is to offer children and adults with intellectual disabilities year-round sports training and competition. Through Special Olympics' athletic, health and leadership programs, people with intellectual disabilities transform themselves, their communities and the world.

Eunice Kennedy Shriver founded the Special Olympics organization in 1968 with the belief that individuals with intellectual disabilities could participate fully in their communities and life. It was her vision that through year-round sports training and athletic competition, individuals with intellectual disabilities would be better equipped to be contributing members of society. By focusing on a person's abilities and not his or her disabilities, Special Olympics athletes earn respect, acceptance, and understanding from their communities, while growing physically, socially and developmentally.

Today, Special Olympics is the largest, fastest growing sports program in the world, representing more than 4.5 million athletes in more than 170 countries. Special Olympics is also the only organization in Minnesota, the United States and the world utilizing the unique benefits of sports to improve the lives of people with intellectual disabilities.

Special Olympics organization does not receive any government funding however they continue to grow thanks to the financial support from individuals, businesses, civic organizations and events like Felling Trailers' Trailer for a Cause.

Special Olympics Minnesota, an accredited program of Special Olympics Incorporated, opened its doors in 1973. Currently, 8,100 Minnesotans with intellectual disabilities participate and compete in 17 Olympic-type sports.
