Kenworth recently delivered its 10,000th T680 Next Generation. The milestone truck was presented to System Transport at the company's 50th anniversary celebration in Spokane, Wash. The T680 Next Generation equipped with a 76-in. mid-roof sleeper was built by the employees at the Kenworth assembly plant in Chillicothe, Ohio. T-Mobile announced on May 9 that Battle Motors has selected the Un-carrier as the preferred provider of IoT connectivity and management for thousands of new Battle Motors battery electric trucks rolling off the Ohio-based production line. These trucks are getting smarter, due to Battle Motors' all new factory installed RevolutionOS EV software, according to the company. Volvo Trucks Introduces Fossil-Free Steel in its Trucks →

Volvo is now introducing fossil-free steel in its trucks. The steel is produced by the Swedish steel company SSAB and the heavy-duty electric Volvo trucks will be the first to include it, the company said. The steel from SSAB is produced using a completely new technology, based on hydrogen. The result is a much lower climate impact than conventionally produced steel. Small scale introduction of the steel in Volvo's heavy electric trucks will begin in the third quarter of 2022.  Click for more...

Kenworth recently held a groundbreaking ceremony to announce the start of construction on a $45 million, 105,000 sq.ft. test building addition to its Class 8 truck assembly plant in Chillicothe, Ohio. The expansion represents a nearly 17 percent increase to the 622,000 sq.ft. Kenworth Chillicothe plant, which is located on a 120-acre site 50 mi. south of Columbus, Ohio.
