Volvo CE, Mack Trucks Partner With Coastal Waste & Recycling to Bring Electrification to South Florida →

Volvo Construction Equipment and Mack Trucks, both Volvo Group companies, recently delivered on- and off-road electric equipment to Florida-based Coastal Waste & Recycling to help the company achieve its sustainability goals. Coastal Waste & Recycling celebrated the event with representatives of the two OEMs and local officials at its facility in Pompano Beach, Fla. Coastal Waste & Recycling, based in Boca Raton, Fla., is piloting a 23-ton EC230 Electric excavator from Volvo CE and took delivery of a Mack LR Electric Class 8 refuse vehicle that will operate in residential and certain specialized commercial applications in southern Florida. Mack Trucks dealer Gabrielli Truck Sales, located near John F. Kennedy International Airport in Jamaica, N.Y., is now a Certified Electric Vehicle (EV) Dealer, becoming the first Mack dealer in New York to be EV-certified. Mack Trucks dealer Ballard Truck Center in Tewksbury, Mass., is now a Certified Electric Vehicle (EV) Dealer and is equipped to service and support the Mack LR Electric, Mack's first fully electric Class 8 refuse truck. Mack Trucks Delivers Mack LR Electric Model to Republic Services to Begin Real-World Trials →

Mack Trucks has delivered a pre-production Mack LR Electric model to Republic Services to begin in-service trials in the demanding refuse segment. Mack will use key learnings from the trials to further refine the LR Electric as it prepares to accept orders for the truck in Q4 2020, with production beginning in 2021. Mack LR Electric to Begin Production in 2021 →

Mack Trucks announced plans to commercialize the Mack LR Electric, its refuse model equipped with a fully electric integrated Mack drivetrain. Orders for the Mack LR Electric will open in Q4 2020, with deliveries beginning in 2021.
